Touchwood Solihull is launching five days of Halloween entertainment this half term.

Families looking for something different to do this October can take on a Minecraft zombie adventure, Halloween face painting and dance with the undead.

The event will be running from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October and will combine bookable activities designed for families.

The headline attraction is a brand-new Minecraft zombie survival experience on Jubilee Walk.

Young adventurers will enter the Halloween Cottage, transporting them into a virtual Minecraft world where they must work together to gather resources, build defences and battle hordes of spooky enemies.

For families looking for half-term entertainment, Halloween face painting will also be available near the Information Desk throughout the week, transforming young visitors into witches, monsters and zombies.

The celebrations will culminate on Friday 30 October, when a roaming zombie disco takes over Touchwood, bringing music, dancing and spooky surprises to the malls throughout the day.

Louise Woodward, marketing and events manager at Touchwood Solihull, said: “Half term should be about making memories together, and we wanted to give families plenty of reasons to spend the day in Solihull, whether that’s taking on our Minecraft zombie challenge, joining the zombie disco or simply popping in for some face painting.”

Touchwood’s recent Retail Mood Index™ research, conducted by YouGov, found that six in ten consumers are willing to travel more than 20 minutes for a destination that brings together shopping, food, leisure and atmosphere.

Louise added: “It reinforces what we see here at Touchwood: people still want to spend time in physical destinations, but they’re looking for experiences as well as shops. Events like this are about creating that sense of occasion and giving our local community another reason to come together and enjoy their town centre.”

Families can also make a day of their visit, with board games at Game Guru, golf, darts and bowling at Spinners, a family film at Cineworld, plus plenty of cafés and restaurants for a half-term pit stop.

Advance booking is required for the Minecraft zombie survival experience, with sessions costing £5 per child and lasting 50 minutes. Places can be booked online.

Further details about Touchwood’s October half-term activities are available via the Touchwood website and social media channels.
