Touchwood sets up wellness retreat for mental health week
In support of Mental Health Awareness Week 2022, Touchwood is setting up a 'Wellness Retreat ' to offer free massages and a friendly place to relax and chat with the Wellness team from Monday 9 to Saturday 14 May.
Touchwood 's Wellness Retreat will be open from 10am to 3pm in Poplar Arcade, next to Starbucks, where visitors can recharge their batteries and enjoy a free 15 minute back or leg massage - no appointments necessary.
Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual event designed to engage the whole of the UK and improve mental wellbeing throughout communities. The theme for this year 's event is loneliness - a poignant topic given the isolation felt by many during the pandemic.
Tony Elvin (pictured), general manager at Touchwood, said: “We are delighted to be able to support Mental Health Awareness Week at Touchwood, and as a proud community hub, we want to do everything we can to tackle loneliness in Solihull. Everyone is welcome at the retreat, even if you just fancy a cuppa and a chat to break up your day - we look forward to meeting you. ”
The retreat is being run by a group of volunteers from Push On Wellbeing (POW) in Chelmsley Wood - a community interest company that aims to improve physical and mental wellbeing within the Solihull area.
Teressa Farrell, Founder of POW said: Teresa Farrell, Founder of POW said: “Since 2015 Push On Wellbeing CIC also known as POW has been pathing the way for better wellbeing in Solihull and we are proud to have helped hundreds of people so far. The work we do aims to fill essential gaps within our community through dancefitness, meditation and aromatherapy programmes designed to improve mental health. ”
