Trainee solicitor recognised for fundraising contributions

A trainee solicitor has been recognised for his commitment to charitable initiatives.

Jack Cook, a trainee solicitor at mfg Solicitors, received the award for his contribution to the firms’ charitable activities and the positive impact of his fundraising efforts.

Jack joined the firm in 2023 as a real estate paralegal before progressing through the firm’s private client team and starting his training contract.

Alongside developing his legal career, Jack has played an active role in supporting the firm’s charitable initiatives.

He joined the firm's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee three years ago as the sole representative from the Birmingham office.

Since then, the committee has grown to six members and has raised thousands of pounds for charities, including Birmingham Hospice, The Buddy Bag Foundation, Birmingham Crisis Centre and, most recently, Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Jack said: "Being involved in fundraising has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

"Supporting causes that make a real difference in our local communities has strengthened my communication, organisation and relationship-building skills, while also teaching me the value of teamwork and perseverance.

"It's shown me how colleagues can come together to achieve meaningful outcomes and make a positive impact.

"At the same time, it's given me the opportunity to develop both personally and professionally while contributing to initiatives that benefit others."
