Cannock-based training provider Performance Through People (PTP) has helped a professional chef switch careers to manufacturing after suffering from an unexpected health condition.

Determined not to let this setback define his future, Daniel Harte enrolled in a PTP Welding Path 2 Apprenticeship (P2A), a six-week pre-apprenticeship programme funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority.

With encouragement and hands-on support from PTP’s Engineering and Adult Development Team, Daniel quickly discovered a passion for welding.

He progressed from the P2A directly into a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Apprenticeship with Rotadex, where he is now thriving.

Daniel said: “I now have a great work-life balance. I feel happier than I have in years, and motivated to continue doing new things to progress my career.”

He also met with West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker last week, who has secured 13,000 pledges to support youth opportunities.
