Sutton Coldfield town centre embraced the spirit of the season as Visit Royal Sutton Coldfield BID organised a charming pumpkin patch, live entertainment and a weekend full of autumnal family fun.

Families flocked to the event last Saturday and Sunday to choose from hundreds of free pumpkins, with children delighting in the mini wheelbarrows and the giant pumpkin photo opportunities.

A surge in demand saw all 200 pumpkins collected within the first hour on the Saturday, prompting the BID team to make a swift dash to source an additional 140 pumpkins, each quickly claimed.

Sunday continued the momentum with a staggering 400 pumpkins disappearing in the first 40 minutes, marking a new seasonal record and highlighting the growing popularity of this autumn tradition.

Throughout the weekend, youngsters also enjoyed free spooky face painting and Sunday’s celebrations included the arrival of Dawn of the Dead stilt walkers, live music, and the  Farmers & Craft Market, now in its third year and managed entirely in-house by the BID.

The two-day Halloween event provided another reason for shoppers to visit Sutton Coldfield town centre.

Visit Royal Sutton Coldfield BID is now preparing a programme of festive events for the Christmas season.
