The UK Black Business Show has launched its annual pitch competition, giving the opportunity to a black-owned business to receive funding, tools, and mentorship.

The competition held in partnership with Lloyds Bank will see four black owned businesses pitch live to a panel of judges during the Birmingham Black Business Show on Saturday, 15 June.

The deadline to enter is Wednesday, 15 May. Click here to register for the competition.

After registering, businesses must answer a few questions and a panel of judges will select 10 semi-finalists who will be invited to a pitch day with Lloyds bank.

The four finalists go through to the final pitch battle live at the Birmingham Black Business Show on the main stage where the winner will be announced.

Speaking about the competition, last year’s winner Eugene Patterson (pictured), co founder of Revibed Drinks said: “I had the opportunity to pitch in Birmingham, my hometown, which I'm very proud of, and I dedicated the pitch in memory of my friend who I lost to suicide.

“So, for me it was very sentimental, and then off the back of that, Lloyd's launch pad has literally taken me to heights that I wouldn't have imagined beforehand."

"You don't know what the unknown is. You don't know if you open that door, what can happen on the other side. If you don't open the door, you'll never know. And that applies to every facet in life.”
