University becomes Chamber awards headline sponsor
A leading university is the latest high-profile organisation to back Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce 's annual dinner and awards as a headline sponsor.
Birmingham City University (BCU) joins Schumacher Packaging as a headline sponsor for the awards dinner which takes place at the ICC on Thursday 16 March.
The event is also being supported by headline partner Birmingham City Council.
BCU is a patron of the GBCC and a long-time supporter of the annual dinner and awards.
The university also pledged its support to next month 's Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase Chambers awards.
Professor Julian Beer (pictured), deputy vice-chancellor at Birmingham City University, said: “Birmingham City University is proud to once again be supporting the annual Chamber awards.
“The university has been part of the fabric of our great city for more than 180 years, with a strong focus on applied and practice-led education.
“Driven by our mission to be the university for Birmingham, we work with hundreds of regional entrepreneurs and businesses each year to support new start-ups, growth, and innovation - an ambition most recently demonstrated by the opening of our 100,00 sq.ft STEAMHouse innovation centre in October.
“Reflecting our business focus and industry engagement, the opportunity to support and celebrate the very best of Birmingham through the awards made perfect sense!
