Birmingham City University (BCU) is inviting partner employers to play an active role in nurturing the next generation of young talent through its Employer Advisory Panel initiative.

The panel will deal specifically with Apprenticeship provision for Allied Health professions.

The initiative is being established to ensure that BCU Allied Health provision remains aligned with evolving workforce development needs, and to provide a platform for employers to contribute to the design, evaluation and promotion of future Apprenticeship delivery.

The panel is a joint initiative from the Department of Health & Social Care and BCU's Apprenticeship Business Development team.

The aim is to strengthen partnerships, share ideas and provide the best level of education for students and learners.

Meeting bi-annually, the panel will discuss topics such as current course provision, emerging sector skills requirements, curriculum advancement and forthcoming local & national policy developments.

The inaugural Advisory Panel meeting will take place on between 8.30am - 10.30am on Thursday 24 July at Birmingham City University's City South Campus in Edgbaston.

Speaking about the initiative, Lisa Davies, assistant director - apprenticeship development and employer engagement, said: “At BCU we are committed to partnering with employers to develop a future apprenticeship provision that meets local and regional skills needs.

“The purpose of Employer Advisory Panels is to make sure our apprenticeships are of the highest quality and provide our employers and individual apprentices the skills they need to succeed.

“Listening to employers will inform all aspects of our apprenticeship offer  - working together we will strive to provide the highest quality of apprenticeships that are demand led, fit for purpose and future oriented.”

Employers interested in participating should email Jo Fuller at jo.fuller@bcu.ac.uk for more details.
