University launch premier innovation training programme for business

Birmingham City University (BCU) has launched a premier training programme equipping businesses with the tools and techniques needed to deliver positive business change and innovation.

The accredited Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (IKE) three day short course is the first of its kind in the Midlands, and starts at BCU on 16 May.

The programme, designed for business leaders and executives, adheres to the ISO 56002 Innovation Management System Guidance Standard, represents the latest in innovation education for businesses.

Dr Tracey Wond, associate dean (Enterprise, Engagement and Employability), said “The IKE course offers a comprehensive run-through of the requirements needed to deliver innovation successfully.

“This includes an introduction to innovation, design and experimentation, and learning how to implement and protect your business innovation.

“Delivered by our leading business academics, this course will provide all the tools and techniques needed to drive innovation, ideal for medium to large organisations.”

BCU is the only university affiliated to the Institute of IKE in the West Midlands offering this highly prestigious course.

The course will be delivered by BCU’s Business School academics, recognised by the UK’s Small Business Charter for their continued excellence in supporting entrepreneurs and growing the economy.

The IKE course, delivered in three 8-hour face to face sessions, will be held in BCU’s £70 million state-of-the-art innovation centre STEAMhouse.

Everyone completing it will gain Membership of the Institute of IKE and be able to use the initials MIKE after their name. The course fee for 3-days including all tuition and course materials is £1050 plus VAT.
