Aston University has announced its Green Advantage programme will return in September 2025, this time as a national programme, open to organisations across the UK.

Registrations are open for the 12-week sustainability course, designed for business leaders, managers and professionals.

Green Advantage equips participants with the knowledge and tools to address climate and environmental challenges, all while boosting business performance and increasing profitability.

The course, led by industry experts and Aston University academics, provides comprehensive coverage of essential environmental sustainability topics relevant to today’s business landscape.

Participants will gain valuable real-world insights, learning how businesses are effectively addressing sustainability challenges and adopting practical strategies that can be applied to their own organisations.

Additionally, attendees will develop a bespoke sustainability roadmap, tailored to help them achieve their specific sustainability goals.

The programme is also supported by Aston University’s Sustainable Growth Hub and Aston Professional.

Green Advantage has already delivered several highly successful cohorts since October 2022, with participating companies including Mars UK, Handelsbanken, National Grid, Shrewsbury Town Council, Mills & Reeve and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, alongside many successful small businesses from across the West Midlands.

From digital agencies and violinists to corporate manufacturers, businesses across many industries have already participated, proving that sustainability is a growing priority for all sectors.

The programme includes a welcome session, six workshops, four focus sessions, and up to four  hours of one-to-one coaching, all designed to fit around full-time work.

Professor Paula Whitehouse, director of Aston Centre for Growth and Green Advantage curriculum lead said: “Many businesses face significant challenges in implementing sustainable practices.

“Green Advantage is tailored to help leaders overcome these hurdles by providing practical solutions, expert guidance, and opportunities for peer learning.

“Our mission is to empower business leaders to align meaningful action with their organisational strategy, driving both business performance and a greener, more sustainable future.”
