University College Birmingham has announced a new range of Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs) and Higher National Certificates (HNCs)

The new range of qualifications are designed specifically for the construction industry in collaboration with employers.

The qualifications are a way for employees working in the construction industry to upskill or retrain in another area of construction, gaining practical, hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge employers need for their businesses.

Crucially, they can be studied part-time, as well as full-time, enabling staff wanting to progress in their career to gain an industry-focused qualification around their working hours. They can even be studied on a module-by-module basis, building up to a full Higher Technical Qualification.

University College Birmingham offers Higher National Certificates (HNCs) – part of the suite of Higher Technical Qualifications - in:

  • Quantity surveying
  • Modern methods of construction
  • Civil engineering
  • Architectural technology

The university will also be launching a breakfast event on Tuesday, 4 June from 8.30 to10 am. People are invited to discover more about the courses and take a tour of their Centre for Sustainable Construction.
