Birmingham City University has become the latest organisation to support the annual awards ceremony hosted by Royal Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase Chambers of Commerce.

BCU will be a headline sponsor for the 2024 awards, joining South Staffordshire College.

The event takes place at The Belfry Hotel & Resort on 26 January, 2024

Thirteen awards will be handed out on the night, with applications open until 5pm on Friday 27 October.

Professor Julian Beer, deputy vice-chancellor (Research, Innovation and Enterprise) at Birmingham City University, said: “Birmingham City University is proud to once again be supporting the annual Chamber awards.

“The university has been part of the fabric of our great region for more than 180 years, with a strong focus on applied and practice-led education.

“Driven by our mission to be the University for Birmingham, we work with hundreds of regional entrepreneurs and businesses each year to support, growth, and innovation – an ambition demonstrated by the recent opening of our 100,00 sq.ft STEAMHouse innovation centre.

“BCU is also ranked first amongst West Midlands universities for the volume of business start-ups, and 14th nationally, demonstrating our strong support for entrepreneurship.

“Reflecting our business focus and industry engagement, the opportunity to support and celebrate the very best of the region through the awards made perfect sense!

“We very much look forward to welcoming you on the night.”
