Two months on from the sad passing of Birmingham-born, global rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, a previously unseen image taken during his legendary appearance at the 'Back to the Beginning' concert on 5 July 2025 at Villa Park has gone on display.

Photographed by world-renowned American rock photographer Mark “WEISSGUY” Weiss, it shows a smiling, triumphant Ozzy saluting over 45,000 adoring fans and fulfilling his ambition to perform for them for the last time with Black Sabbath.

The iconic and important image is one of the final photographs ever taken of Ozzy on stage, where his final message to his fans was, “God bless you all.”

The framed photograph, measuring 1.78m wide, is being displayed as part of the exhibition ‘Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero’ at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery with kind permission from Sharon Osbourne and the Osbourne family.

Photographer Mark “WEISSGUY” Weiss said: “Of all the photographs I’ve taken of Ozzy, the one featured in the Working Class Hero exhibition is the most meaningful to me. Every time I look at it, I’m reminded of the incredible journey we’ve shared since that first shot in 1981.

“From all the crazy, fun, and sometimes totally insane photo shoots we did; Ozzy in the bathtub, Ozzy shaving his head, Ozzy in an Easter Bunny outfit, and countless others; this image carries the history of our friendship and the spirit of everything Ozzy has represented through the decades.

“To see it now as part of his final farewell feels like the closing of a chapter I’ve been honoured to help tell through my lens.”

Sam Watson, chair of Central BID, curators of the exhibition, said: “This wonderful photograph of Ozzy is so emotive and historically important we really wanted it to be part of the exhibition and are very grateful to Sharon Osbourne and her family and to Mark Weiss for allowing us the opportunity to put it on display and enable the public to come and see it.

“The photograph has been beautifully presented by Castle Fine Art and we are sure it will become a ‘must-see’ addition to the exhibition, which has proved extremely popular with visitors with record numbers attending.”

Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero exhibition celebrates the global lifetime achievements of Birmingham-born, global rock legend Ozzy Osbourne at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery and has recently been extended due to public demand until 18 January 2026 and is free to enter and open daily, 10am – 5pm.
