Greater Birmingham Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce (GBTCC) are set to host an event this month to provide businesses with insight from the US embassy.

The virtual breakfast event will take place on 29 March at 9am and will be free to both members and non-members.

The aim is to shed light on the most active sectors, highlight recent trade trends and inform businesses of the upcoming SelectUSA investment summit.

The discussion will be hosted by Rosemary Gallant (pictured), counsellor for Commercial Affairs at the US embassy in London and Gus Franklyn-Bute, senior regional investment advisor.

Ms Gallant 's role at the embassy includes supporting the US-UK commercial relationship, promoting investment into the United States and providing information on issues, such as Brexit and bilateral trade, to U.S firms.

Her previous roles also include serving as senior commercial officer at the U.S embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia and also as principal commercial officer for the U.S embassy in Beijing, China.

Mr Franklyn-Bute 's job is to provide strategic market entry advice to a range of companies and industries, as well as managing 'SelectUSA ', a federal program established to drive economic growth.

His history prior to joining the US Commercial Service includes a range of advisory roles to C-suite executives and entrepreneurs in the UK, as well as consulting for the Commonwealth Secretariat on national trade and FDI policy and strategies.
