A specialist in North American history will be providing a guide to the US elections during a Greater Birmingham Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce event to mark ‘Super Tuesday’.

Dr Steve Hewitt (pictured), associate professor from the Department of History and the Centre for the Study of North America at the University of Birmingham, is speaking at the event on Tuesday 5 March, taking place at the Birmingham offices of law firm Browne Jacobson.

Dr Hewitt is a specialist on North American history, particularly in relation to extremism and political and ideological violence.

A Canadian by birth, he has lived and taught at universities in Canada, the United States, and, since 2002, the United Kingdom.

‘Super Tuesday’ is the date in the United States presidential primary cycle when the greatest number of states hold primary elections and caucuses.

Attendees will have the opportunity to network as well as watching the results start to roll in on the biggest day so far in the race for the White House.
