Theatres, events and indoor hospitality are reopening from today, and business leaders are urging the public to support organisations as they reopen their doors this week.

From today, indoor entertainment, cinemas, bowling alleys, casinos, amusement arcades, museums and indoor play areas are permitted to reopen.

Live performances and sporting events can also resume at limited capacity.

It will be the first time many businesses have been able to trade for several months as the Government implements stage three of its roadmap for easing lockdown restrictions.

Restaurants and bars can also now accommodate customers indoors. International travel has to resumed today, with leisure passengers permitted to travel to green list countries, identified by government, without the need to quarantine on their return back to England.

Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce is hosting a 'Twitter Takeover ' today, with the official @GrBhamChambers account being handed over to businesses who are reopening or preparing to reopen.

Businesses can join the discussion by using the hashtag #KeepBusinessMoving

Chief executive Henrietta Brealey (pictured) said: “Today is the day so many businesses across the region have been waiting for - particularly those in the leisure, entertainment, events and hospitality sectors.

“We know just how hard businesses have been working to reopen after a hugely challenging period and the whole Chamber team sends our best wishes and support to those members who are reopening over the coming days.

“Once again, we look forward to championing these businesses today through our second social media takeover and we hope you will join us in showing support. ”
