Ark Media Productions has been supporting fellow Chamber member Acorns Children 's Hospice by creating a video to showcase facilities at the charity 's Worcester site.

Acorns Children 's Hospice provides specialist palliative care for life-limited and life-threatened children across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire, as well as support for their families.

In the past year, the charity has cared for more than 700 children and almost 1,000 families, including those who are bereaved.

It cost Acorns £27,000 per day to provide its services, the bulk of which comes from fundraising and the local community.

The video tour will give families, supporters and the public a more immersive introduction to Acorns hospices, their facilities and services as well as tackle common misconceptions about hospices.

The video tour showcases Acorns comprehensive facilities which include a hydrotherapy pool, indoor and outdoor play areas, adolescence rooms, a multisensory room that consists of coloured lights, textured surfaces, projected images and sounds, and various other areas.

The video tour will be available to view on Acorns website. Care teams from Acorns and NHS children 's community nurses, meanwhile, will be able to 'take the hospice ' to newly-referred families ahead of visits.

Becky Hughes, matron at Acorns for the Three Counties, said: “We 're extremely grateful to Ark Media for creating this amazing video tour and we 've enjoyed working with their team to bring our hospice to life in this way. ”

“Not only will it help families new to Acorns feel like they 've already been to our hospice before they visit for the first time, it will also give the public and our supporters, whose generosity enables us to continue our work, the chance to see the difference their donations and fundraising makes. ”

Becky added: “We know that for many families coming to a hospice for the first time can seem really scary and we want that to change. We want to show people that our hospices are special places that are full of life and friendly faces. ”

Deputy CEO of Ark Media, Graham Allsopp, said: “I am delighted with how the video turned out, it gives a comprehensive tour of their incredible hospice, really capturing the friendly, homely environment.

“The team at Ark media are always keen to do their part to support local charities and get great joy from seeing their work help to make a difference in the community ”
