Lichfield District Council is seeking residents ' views on the pavement cafs operating in Lichfield city centre.

Introduced to enable caf businesses to trade outside when the Covid pandemic created the need for social distancing, pavement licences were issued in 2020 for premises in Tamworth Street, Bore Street and Conduit Street.

Customers continue to be served outside caf premises in bays formerly used for parking by blue badge holders.

Additional blue badge bays were provided in the city centre and holders are permitted to park for free in any council-owned facility and in any bay if all blue badge bays are full.

Although the bays for blue badge holders outside cafs were suspended temporarily Lichfield District Council has received requests for the extension of pavement licences.

The council is now appealing for feedback on pavement cafs from everyone with an interest - blue badge holders, residents, businesses and visitors through a short survey.

A spokesperson for Lichfield District Council said: “The pavement cafs have proved popular with the city 's eating establishments that have utilised them and their customers.

“We are now seeking the views of as many people as possible so please complete the short survey we have launched. ”
