Villa back digital poverty campaign
Aston Villa Foundation is backing a campaign to tackle digital poverty in Birmingham.
The foundation are working with Wowdot to support Connect_In, a campaign providing refurbished laptops for education to children who would otherwise not have access to technology at home.
The foundation are now looking for businesses and individuals who would like to support the scheme, by donating old or unused laptops which will be refurbished for children.
A drop-off point for donations has been set up in Villa Park, and will be open for donations from 10am until 12pm every Wednesday morning.
Once the laptop has been donated via the Aston Villa Foundation it will be sent to Wowdot to be refurbished and cannot be returned. They will also be accepting any added accessories and chargers that are part of the laptop.
Each laptop costs Wowdot £300 to refurbish donated laptops. The foundation is also urging for cash donations to the initiative to help fund refurbishments.
