Vintage Trains tours proving popular
The Vintage Trains 2021 railtour programme is proving a big success with tickets selling well.
The mix of 'staycation ' diesel-hauled seaside trains and mainline expresses running behind steam is providing an appealing programme for rail enthusiasts and family audiences following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions.
A waiting list is now available for single-seat bookings anticipating an early removal of social distancing rules.
The Seaside Express series family tickets are already sold out on the Skegness, Llandudno and Scarborough trains, with limited availability to Weston Super Mare.
Pullman and Club 'bubbles ' of four also have availability.
Both anniversary trains in the steam series have proved to be a must for enthusiasts,
Pullman is sold out on the Return to Steam 50th Anniversary special with some space still available on the SLS Special. Pullman is also virtually sold out on The White Rose in December.
Anticipating changes to the social distancing rules, Vintage Trains has established a waiting list for single travellers - please call 0121 708 4960 or email bookings@VintageTrains.co.uk to reserve your seat.
Tickets are also now on sale with the schedule commencing on 17 July, running on 13 dates (nine consecutive summer Sundays from 18 July), with more trains and new features.
In 2021, for the first time, four Saturday trains will operate on a different schedule, out and back on the North Warwickshire Line via Henley in Arden.
On selected Saturday evenings, the theme will be Murder on the Shakespeare Express, to include fine dining. An afternoon Mad Hatters Tea Party will also run for the children.

VT 's Class 47 (47 773) has returned to Tyseley from the Severn Valley Railway where it ran as a special guest at the 2021 Spring Diesel Bash.
Its visit to the SVR included time at Kidderminster diesel depot where it has undergone body repairs and a full repaint to its original two tone green livery with small yellow warning panel. The locomotive is an important element of the VT operational fleet in 2021 including hauling Seaside Express trains to Weston Super Mare and Scarborough.
