Virtuoso Spanish guitarist set for Lichfield Garrick performance
A virtuoso Spanish guitarist who is described as the Galician king of acoustic guitar is performing at Lichfield’s Garrick theatre this summer.
Iago Banet takes to the Garrick Stage on 21 July.
Described as ‘a master of the guitar’ by BBC Radio 3 In Tune and ‘highly recommended artist’ by Celtic Connections, Iago launched his third album, TRES.
He has showcased his talent at festivals including Brecon Jazz, Hellys International Guitar Festival and Aberjazz - fusing styles ranging from gypsy jazz, blues, Americana, country and dixieland, to swing, pop and folk
Since 2018, Banet has been building an impressive career as a solo fingerstyle acoustic guitarist.
He has recently supported the legendary Jethro Tull in Spain, appeared on BBC Radio 3 In Tune twice, and also featured on BBC Radio 2's The Blues Show with Cerys Matthews.
He also performed at renowned festivals, such as Brecon Jazz, Aberjazz and Celtic Connections.
