Walkers urged to March the Month via new challenge
Keen walkers looking for a new fundraising project are being urged to take part in Prostate Cancer UK 's annual March the Month steps challenge.
Those taking part in the virtual initiative will be tasked with walking 11,000 steps a day throughout March in a bid to raise funds for the charity.
The 11,000 steps represent those which pass away from prostate cancer every year.
Cash raised via the initiative will help fund research into prostate cancer and support men like Paul.
Paul was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018 after finding out his age, then 57, put him at higher risk of getting the disease.
His prostate cancer was caught early, before it had a chance to spread outside the prostate, and he is now on the road to recovery. Since his diagnosis, Paul 's taken part in March the Month for several years to raise vital funds and awareness.
He said: “I want men to be aware of their risks of the disease and to speak to their GP if they have any concerns - sooner rather than later. ”
Walkers taking part in the challenge are also being encouraged to share their fundraising efforts on social media, using the hashtag #MarchTheMonth.
