War in Ukraine: What happened this week?
A Russian missile strikes a Ukrainian shopping centre, killing at least 18 civilians, Turkey withdraws its objections to Sweden and Finland being admitted as members of NATO and the UK Government announces new sanctions.

Monday 27 June
A Russian missile strikes a Ukrainian shopping centre in the city of Kremenchek, with Ukrainian authorities reporting at least 18 civilians killed and more than 35 missing.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson calls on world leaders to take urgent action to get essential food supplies out of Ukraine at the G7 Summit.
Tuesday 28 June
Ambassador Barbara Woodward, UK Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, reiterates calls of the international community for Russia to end its illegal invasion and withdraw outside Ukraine 's internationally recognised borders at a UN Security Council meeting.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson announces a series of measures to support Ukraine 's Science and Technology and research sectors, as part of the UK 's wider efforts to bolster Ukraine 's economy and security in the face of Russia 's brutality.
Wednesday 29 June
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg reaffirms NATO 's support for Ukraine, sharing that member states had agreed to strengthen support for the country by pledging a "comprehensive assistance package".
Turkey withdraws its objections to Sweden and Finland being admitted as members of NATO, with Russia reportedly calling the plans "destabilising".
US President Joe Biden announces an expanded military presence of American forces across Europe in response to Russia 's invasion of Ukraine.
The UK Government unveils new sanctions targeting Putin 's inner circle, as well as measures to prevent Russia from accessing UK trust services.
Thursday 30th June
The UK Government reveals it will provide an additional £1billion in military aid for Ukraine, a near-doubling in its support. The aid will go towards "sophisticated air defence systems", drones, electronic warfare equipment, and "thousands of pieces of vital kit".
Ukrainian President Zelensky cuts diplomatic ties with Syria after it joins Russia in formally recognising the "independence" of two Moscow-backed separatist regions.
