Former Future Faces Chamber of Commerce president Mark Hipwell was appointed chair of the Ronald McDonald House Charities earlier this year, succeeding long-serving Doug Wright.

The charity provides a home-away-from-home for families of children under care at children's hospitals around the UK. The Birmingham house is situated a stone's throw from Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Chamber CEO Henrietta Brealey visited the Birmingham house to meet Mark and talk about his first few months in the role.

Mark, an interface design manager working on HS2, is taking on the House to House Challenge - a 1,000km running, walking and cycling challenge to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
