WATCH: US Embassy event highlights trade trends
Greater Birmingham Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce welcomed two high-profile figures from US embassy to shed a light on the most active sectors, recent trade trends and the upcoming SelectUSA investment summit.
Rosemary Gallant (pictured), the counsellor for Commercial Affairs at the US embassy in London and Gus Franklyn-Bute, senior regional investment advisor, took part in the event.
Ms Gallant 's role at the embassy includes supporting the US-UK commercial relationship, promoting investment into the United States and providing information on issues, such as Brexit and bilateral trade, to U.S firms.
Her previous roles also include serving as senior commercial officer at the U.S embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia and also as principal commercial officer for the U.S embassy in Beijing, China.
Mr Franklyn-Bute 's job is to provide strategic market entry advice to a range of companies and industries, as well as managing 'SelectUSA ', a federal program established to drive economic growth.
His history prior to joining the US Commercial Service includes a range of advisory roles to C-suite executives and entrepreneurs in the UK, as well as consulting for the Commonwealth Secretariat on national trade and FDI policy and strategies.
