Wealth management experts to sponsor Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2025

Future Faces has announced that Canaccord Wealth, one of the top ten UK integrated wealth managers by assets under management, will be sponsoring the Finance category of the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2025.

Paul Fielding, Investment Director at Canaccord Wealth, was heavily involved with the organisation of the BYPY Awards with Birmingham Future, before it merged with the BPS Network and became the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards.

Paul originally joined Birmingham Future around 22 years ago when he was in the early years of his career. He attended an event entitled ‘How to Network’ and was immediately hooked, joining the committee a week later and remaining involved in one way or another for the next 12 years.

Paul said: “I attended BYPY every year from then and loved the night. One year when I was a member of the charity committee we raised a record amount of money for the chosen charity, which was something I was particularly proud of. In those days I always described it as being like Birmingham’s Oscars as it was all very glamorous.”

Paul was also an awards finalist in the Finance category of the BYPY Awards in 2009 and 2014.

Speaking about sponsoring the Finance category, Paul said: “Canaccord Wealth are a very forward-thinking company who believe that encouraging young talent to thrive is vital for the future.

“We all begin somewhere so what better way to promote Birmingham’s young professionals than sponsoring these prestigious awards and celebrating their success.”

Taking place at the ICC Birmingham on Friday 17 October, the awards will celebrate the talent and successes of young professionals across Greater Birmingham.

This year also marks 25 years of BYPY, the Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards, dating back to when the awards were first launched under the BPS Network, which later merged with Birmingham Future to create the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards.
