A webinar offering businesses advice on writing bids to secure grant funding is being held by the Chamber 's international division.

Many businesses rely on winning bids to fund their activities - but it is not always easy or clear on how to be successful in the application process.

The webinar, hosted by the Innovate UK EDGE team based at the Chamber, provides information on bidding for Horizon Europe and Innovate UK Smart Grants.

It takes place on 14 September (10am to 11.30am).

Horizon Europe and Innovate UK Smart Grants are two big opportunities currently available to innovative firms with ambitions to grow.

Horizon Europe is an EU-funded programme for research and innovation, used to tackle climate change and help achieve the UN 's sustainable development goals by awarding funding to relevant projects.

Despite leaving the EU, UK businesses still have access to this funding as an associate country.

UK companies - as well as scientists, researchers and industry - can apply for a grant from a pot of 95.5 billion.

All they require is an innovative idea that comes with a disruptive nature and scale-up potential.

Innovate UK Smart Grants are for businesses who are looking to develop innovative and disruptive ideas.

Transformative and game-changing organisations with commercially viable and ground-breaking ideas can apply for a share of a £25m funding pot.

In particular, Innovate UK is looking for technological projects that are ready to scale and grow, will be transformative and benefit society as a whole as well as the economy.

The webinar will explain how to successfully fill out grant applications in a way that will give firms the step up they need, increasing the odds of funders looking upon a bid favourably and recognising it as a worthwhile investment opportunity.

Speakers will provide the information on what these opportunities could mean for businesses and the experiences of similar companies who have previously won grant funding.

This will be followed by an audience Q&A.
