Webinar to prepare firms for more Brexit-related changes
The Chamber is hosting a webinar in August to help businesses prepare for several key Brexit-related changes set to be introduced over the coming months.
The webinar will cover upcoming changes that will take place next year that with several grace periods, introduced to give businesses more time to adjust, drawing to a close.
William Bain, head of trade policy at the British Chambers of Commerce will discuss the staged introduction of full import controls on goods arriving from the EU as well as the ending of the temporary easements around rules of origin.
This webinar will also cover the forthcoming changes related to product markings with businesses needing to use the new UKCA mark from 2021 instead of the CE mark
It takes place on the 25 August (2pm to 3pm) and is supported by the West Midlands Combined Authority.
Raj Kandola, head of policy at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, said: “Despite the Brexit transition period ending on 31 December last year, there are still a number of important changes that are yet to take effect.
“Given that many businesses are struggling as a result of the pandemic, the UK government has given firms more time to adjust to the new trading arrangements by delaying the introduction of full import controls on goods arriving from the EU.
“With further easements around rules of origin and product markings set to end as well, this webinar will help businesses to keep on top of the forthcoming changes and assist them with their preparations as they get ready to comply with the new rules.
“The GBCC will also be running a webinar on the 24 August to support businesses with the recent changes to right to work checks when employing EU nationals.
“Any businesses that are looking for further support in relation to the new UK immigration system will also have the opportunity to put their questions to a guest expert. ”
