April is a month of festival celebrations starting with Vaisakhi and Baishakh. For those of you celebrating Vaiskahi on 14 April, I 'd like to with you Happy Vaiskahi and a prosperous New Year.
Also on the same day the Bengali New Year is being celebrated. Those of you celebrating, I 'd like to wish you a very Happy Bengali New Year.
Depending on the sighting of the moon around the 12 or 13 April is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community. I 'd like to wish you all Ramadan Kareem.
In other news, this month we heard that the BBC will be moving some of its staff to the West Midlands, especially those in its NewsBeat and Asian Network divisions.
This is great news for the region, and I for one am quite upbeat and excited for a larger BBC presence in Birmingham.
That is about it from me, I do hope you enjoy this edition of the newsletter.
Have a wonderful rest of March, and I'll see you in April.
