A charitable organisation which supports the local community by redistributing surplus goods and donated items is celebrating its first anniversary.

West Midlands Multibank supports those in need by redistributing items donated from businesses via a network of community-based partners, including charities, community groups and other organisations working with communities across the region.

BVSC, Amazon, The Multibank Team, Birmingham City Council, business and community partners came together to celebrate the anniversary at the West Midlands Multibank.

Birmingham and the wider West Midlands region face some of the highest levels of child poverty in the country.

In Birmingham alone, over 40 per cent of children are said to be living in poverty.

The Multibank supports those in need by redistributing surplus goods and donated items from businesses via a network of community-based partners, including charities, community groups and other organisations working with communities across the region.

Lord mayor of Birmingham and BVSC president Councillor Zafar Iqbal (pictured) was among those to join the celebrations.

The community hub heard from partners as to how the Multibank has changed lives and contributed to the West Midlands.
