A security expert who is driving real change in his sector has been named as the ‘Business Person of the Year’ at The Signature Awards.

Ian McCallister, CEO of Man Commercial Protection, impressed the judging panel with building the UK’s leading privately owned security business in the heart of the West Midlands, placing a strong ‘people’ culture at its heart.

Held at The Vox in Birmingham, Iain beat off competition from some of the region’s leading entrepreneurs to claim one of the main prizes in front of 540 delegates from the world of industry and commerce.

His attention to detail and entrepreneurial longevity were also highlighted, with the firm now employing 1,600 people and generating annual revenues of £60m, supporting a host of corporate clients in commercial, logistics, property management, and manufacturing.

The Solihull business is also a recognised name in the boxing and music worlds and has made its first successful foray into football stadium security with Solihull Moors FC this season.

Iain will help grow the company through acquisitions, with MAN Commercial Protection currently in talks with potential targets.

Iain said: “When you consider the calibre of entrepreneurs I was up against, this is one of the biggest honours I’ve received.

“I’m rightly proud of the business we’ve built, and that’s testament to all the team at HQ and our security teams nationwide who represent us out in the field.

“They all embody the enterprising spirit and high levels of service we want the business to be known for – this award is as much for them as it is for me.

“I have been working hard alongside my industry peers to build the reputation of the security industry, and being recognised like this helps change the narrative.

“We invest heavily in training, health and safety, and, more recently, in the latest technology to ensure we can protect premises, events and, importantly, people.”

Nachural’s Signature Awards continue to serve as a convening point for credible leaders and ambitious organisations to share insight, build connections, and celebrate achievement at the highest level.

With events hosted across multiple UK cities, the competition has gained a national profile for recognising excellence and bringing together the people shaping the future of business.

The evening, which was supported by headline sponsors Bond Wolfe and KLSA PKF, also featured a keynote address from Edwina Dunn, co-founder of dunnhumby and the brains behind the Tesco Clubcard.
