West Midlands training consultancy develops new leadership programme

West Midlands based coaching and training provider, CareerSpace, has devised a new ‘hands-on’ leadership training programme for rising stars who have suddenly found themselves managing a team.

The innovative approach addresses the challenges around traditional progression into management by combining neuroscience, training and one-to-one coaching.

It focuses on demystifying the mental blocks and avoidance techniques when leading a team, enabling hard-wired obstacles within the brain to be overcome.

It introduces foolproof management techniques with a practical and tangible focus, as well as providing an inspirational and safe space to track ongoing progress.

Set up in 2025, CareerSpace, draws on over 60 years of experience within SMEs and corporates, and in its first year quickly identified common patterns within organisations of all sizes.

In most cases, highly-experienced, technical employees were rewarded with promotions by being given a team without being equipped with the knowledge, tools and – most importantly – confidence to succeed.

By introducing a neuroscience-based approach, attendees gain a complete view of how they, and the teams they manage, deal with a range of situations and challenges.

While traditional training programmes often end at the conclusion of each training session, CareerSpace’s approach embeds coaching throughout the process, to allow learners to explore their own potential in a confidential and constructive environment between sessions.

The company was founded by accredited coach and HR consultant, Sarah Wright (pictured) and qualified coach and commercial/marketing consultant Andy Holmes – both of whom are members of the Association for Coaching.

Sarah said: “The data shows that effective leadership and management has a direct impact on the bottom line.

“I’ve always been passionate about supporting people to be the best that they can be, and this framework delivers a more engaged workforce, which in turn leads to an increase in productivity and profitability wile leading to lower attrition rates and less stress.

“If you’ve ever lain awake a 4am worried about a people issue in your organisation, then we can help”.

Andy said: “We’ve all sat in those training sessions where the learning completely leaves your head the minute you get back to your desk.

“By embedding coaching into this framework, we make sure that the tools can be implemented as part of your day-to-day, as opposed to a bolt-on that you have to find more time for”.

The training framework is suitable for businesses of all sizes and is equally effective with new managers and more established leaders, even up to C-Level.

Training is delivered in person or remotely and is always heavily focused on the values and culture of the organisation.
