World Cup winner to star at sporting lunch
Mike Tindall will be the Sporting Club's next Birmingham lunch guest on 8 October at Edgbaston Stadium.
The England rugby world cup winner follows Harry Redknapp and then a reunion of the England cricket 1981 Ashes team as the next star name to grace the famous cricket stadium under the banner of the Sporting Club.
Tindall (pictured) played in the triumphant England team that became world champions for the first and only time after beating Australia in 2003.
He won 75 caps for his country, scoring 74 points.
He then went on to marry Zara Phillips, the former world and European eventing champion and granddaughter to the Queen.
The 'Lunch with Mike Tindall ' will include a drinks reception, photos printed and framed for all guests with Mike, a three-course meal with wine and a 45-minute Q&A.
“I'm looking forward to the lunch, ” Tindall said. “It's always a good occasion with the Sporting Club. ”
Ian Stafford, the Sporting Club's founder and owner, added: “Mike is an old friend with plenty of fantastic stories to tell and we all look forward to what will be another cracking day at Edgbaston. ”
Funds will also be raised for the Children's Air Ambulance on the day.
