Step-by-step guide to using a digital ATA carnet

How to install the digital carnet app to the phone

  1. Apply for your Carnet via the eCert platform
  2. Receive your Carnet number/ID from us
  3. Install the Carnet App on your smartphone/tablet

How to download a digital carnet to the app

  1. Register a profile on the app and log in
  2. Add the Carnet to the app using the Carnet number and Carnet Pin, or by scanning a QR code that eCert generates.
 

Prepare your travels

  1. Prepare your travels. This is the equivalent of completing the vouchers in your old paper Carnet and will tell customs what you are transporting and where you are going.  This will generate QR codes that customs will scan instead of ripping out paper vouchers

Share the Travel Code with the person traveling with the goods

  1. If you are transporting the goods yourself then you can access the QR codes on your device, but if someone else is transporting the goods for you then you may just want to send them the QR codes to use instead of the whole carnet.
