Join a talented pool of individuals striving to support a thriving business community. We are on the lookout for a Media & Communications Officer to join us at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. This is a permanent position.
As our Media & Communications Officer you will play a key role in promoting the work of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce and its members. You will support the Media & Communications Manager and the Head of Media & Communications to deliver high-impact press, PR and digital content that raises our profile and showcases the incredible work happening across Greater Birmingham.
This is a varied, fast-paced role where no two days are the same. From drafting press releases and writing features for our Chamberlink magazine, to covering major business events and producing engaging podcasts, you will be right at the heart of our communications activity.
To be successful, you will have exceptional writing and editing skills with a nose for a good story. You will understand both traditional and digital media and how to make an impact in each. You will thrive under pressure, able to juggle multiple deadlines, will be able to build strong working relationships and communicate with confidence. You will bring enthusiasm, curiosity and a genuine interest in the regional business landscape. You will likely be a recent journalism, PR or communications graduate with some experience in a newsroom, PR agency or press office, but above all you will bring creativity, drive and a willingness to get stuck in.
