AI, philosophy and future of inclusion explored in new podcast
A new episode of the Diversity Rocks Podcast from Orange Orchid is encouraging business leaders to think differently about equity, diversity and inclusion, through a conversation with Dr Paul Jones from Aston University Business School.
Hosted by diversity and inclusion consultant and keynote speaker Liz Crutchley, the episode explores the deeper social and philosophical questions sitting underneath workplace inclusion, including the influence of postmodernism, the role of education in shaping opportunity, and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on who is seen, heard and valued in society.
The discussion moves beyond traditional workplace conversations around EDI, challenging listeners to reflect on how systems, language and technology influence identity, belonging and access to opportunity.
Liz Crutchley, founder of Orange Orchid and host of the Diversity Rocks Podcast, said: “This conversation really stretched my thinking. It is one of those episodes that makes you question assumptions and look at inclusion through a completely different lens.
“We explored some difficult but important ideas about society, education, power and AI, and what all of this means for the future of work and human connection.”
During the episode, Dr Jones shares insights from his academic and research background, exploring how evolving cultural narratives shape the way organisations approach diversity, leadership and inclusion.
The conversation also considers whether emerging technologies such as AI risk reinforcing existing inequalities if organisations fail to critically examine the systems behind them.
The Diversity Rocks Podcast regularly features conversations with leaders, academics, creatives and changemakers exploring inclusion, identity and belonging in modern society.
