B:Music launches sparkling seasonal programme of performances

Birmingham’s Town Hall and Symphony Hall are ready to get into the festive spirit – with a sparkling array of Yuletide treats for theatre-goers.

From sparkling seasonal tunes and family-friendly fun to magical movie experiences, Christmas is set to come alive on the Town Hall and Symphony Hall stages in Birmingham.

Theatregoers can step into a sparkling festive wonderland with Christmas with Anton Du Beke (11 December).

The Ballroom King and Strictly Come Dancing judge is joined by his lively band, the sensational vocalist Lance Ellington, and a troupe of extraordinary dancers for an unforgettable evening of music, dance, and laughter at Symphony Hall.

Meanwhile, Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra appear on their winter tour (29 & 30 November), alongside a line-up of guest artists.

From the ‘Queen of Boogie-Woogie’ Ruby Turner to Imelda May, with vocals from Louise Marshall and Sumudu Jayatilaka, the audience can expect a brilliant mix of classic hits and new favourites at Symphony Hall.

Back by popular demand, The Definitive Rat Pack brings an evening of festive classics to Symphony Hall (15 December), featuring hits like White Christmas, Baby It’s Cold Outside, The Christmas Song, and Let It Snow, alongside timeless favourites including Mack the Knife, That’s Amore, Mr Bojangles, and New York, New York.

With Dean Martin’s sensational Golddiggers and the internationally acclaimed Manhattan Swing Orchestra, this is one Christmas party not to miss.

Or the audience can step into the magic of the season with Step into Christmas at Town Hall (5 December). The feelgood show is packed with favourite Christmas classics- from heartwarming ballads to lively festive anthems.

For lovers of classical music, Christmas with Sir Karl Jenkins (21 December) offers an afternoon of carols and seasonal favourites from his albums Joy to the World and Stella Natalis.

The audience can experience timeless pieces such as Silent Night, In Dulci Jubilo, Go Tell it On the Mountain, The First Noel, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, alongside a beautiful selection of Sir Karl’s compositions at Symphony Hall.

Meanwhile, theatregoers can join Toscana Strings for The Snowman and The Nutcracker (6 December) and experience beloved stories brought to life through music, dance, and a touch of audience magic. And from Rod Campbell, the author of the much-loved children’s book Dear Zoo, comes Dear Santa (14 December)- an ideal introduction to theatre for little ones aged one and up.

The festive fun continues after the show, with the chance to meet Santa in his grotto, where every child will receive a very special gift.

This festive season, B:Music is bringing some of the most magical family favourites to the stage, complete with live orchestral performances of their well known scores. The show features the comedy classic Home Alone (22 December), with John Williams’ charming score performed live alongside the film by a full orchestra.

Meanwhile, theatregoers can make their festive season extra special with a screening of one of the UK’s most beloved animated films, Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers (29 November).

The magical musical event also features scores from other family favourites, including Frozen and The Lion King, performed by the world-renowned Cory Band.
