Campaign to support firms with technology and digitisation
A campaign to help businesses maximise opportunities related to technological development and digital access has been launched by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce today.
Figures from the Centre for Economic Performance suggest that 75 per cent of firms across the country have adopted digital technologies and 55 per cent new digital capabilities since March 2020.
More than 70 per cent of firms who adopted new technologies say that these have improved business resilience, and more than 40 per cent say that the adoption of new technologies has improved their profitability.
The Chamber 's Future in Technology campaign runs from today until 29 July 2022.
It kicked off this morning with the Chamber 's Quarterly Business Report Briefing for Q2 2022.
Throughout the campaign, the GBCC will share briefing papers, blogs and Q&As on ways in which local firms of all sectors and sizes can unlock new opportunities, increase business resilience and grow through the adoption of new technologies and improved digital skills.
Technological innovation and digital adoption continue to present key growth opportunities for businesses in Greater Birmingham.
Emily Stubbs (pictured), senior policy and projects manager at the GBCC, said: “Inspired by feedback from our Chamber Council, this campaign aims to make local businesses aware of the opportunities associated with new technologies and digitisation, and enable them to maximise these opportunities, driving economic growth and providing opportunities to talented local individuals that enable them to access associated employment opportunities.
“Focussing primarily on digital resilience and upskilling local workforces, Future in Technology will feature Q&A videos with local experts, as well as comprehensive briefing papers and blogs, hosted on the Chamber website. ”
