Chamber helps another firm achieve international qualification
Another business has received a nationally-recognised qualification after completing training courses offered by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC).
The GBCC delivers a widespread portfolio of import and export training, all accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), which enable businesses to upskill their staff on global issues.
Donna Watson, customer service advisor at engine cooling manufacturer Truflo Air Movement Ltd, has recently gained her foundation award in International Trade after completing six course modules via the GBCC 's training service.
Donna praised her experience with completing the courses, now equipping her further in her role of scheduling and preparing paperwork for the daily process associated with exporting goods.
She said: “I have enjoyed all the courses and found them to be very helpful, they have helped me to understand more about the importing and exporting of goods.
“Understanding export and export documentation was probably the course that I found most useful because it was the first course which gave me a better understanding and also gave me the bug to want to complete other courses.
“I would recommend all the courses even if something is not particularly what you need it provides an insight into that area, for example Import wasn 't something that interested me too much as we very rarely do imports however I felt this helped me understand things more clearly.
“I would attend more courses in fact I 'm looking at the Customs declaration course for later this month.
“Big thank you to Leah and also to Sue the trainer she was so knowledgeable friendly and helpful which always makes any course easier to understand.
Leah Quarmby (pictured), international trade training manager at the GBCC, said: “It is now six months after Brexit and businesses are still facing problems with shipping and paperwork requirements on imports and exports. Our training course options are updated frequently to include the most current and vital pieces of information anyone working in an International trade environment would need.
“More companies are sending members of their team on the courses especially the BCC accredited ones so they can gain the much needed information to take back to their working roles as well as gain their British Chamber accreditation.
“Once a learner attends and passes six out of ten modules of the BCC accredited training courses they gain the foundation award in International trade which is equivalent to an NVQ.
“As well as these courses, there has also been a huge increase in bookings for our more specialised courses too, such as our Customs declaration course which Donna has mentioned will also be attending.
“As each course we offer has its own content, no two courses are the same and there is something for everyone who is in the world of International trade. ”
