Claim half priced railway tickets during World Car Free Day

Passengers of London Northwestern Railway can claim discounted tickets at half price today.

The rail operator is giving away 10,000 unique promotion codes for 50 per cent off advance tickets.

These can be used to travel to cities such as Liverpool, London and Birmingham between 23 September and 22 October.

Speaking about the initiative, Jonny Wiseman, customer experience manager at London Northwestern Railway, said: “World Car Free Day encourages motorists to take a break from the car for one day a year to demonstrate what a world without traffic and air pollution might look like.  

“We want to encourage drivers to go one step further and commit to swapping a car journey for a trip on the train in the next month, so we’re giving away thousands of 50 per cent off promo codes to anyone who makes the pledge.”
