Executive coaching organisation, The Leadership Coaches, has successfully conducted a climate leadership programme as part of their partnership with the Women’s Environmental Network (Wen).

For the last few years, Wen, Women’s Environmental Network, has been The Leadership Coaches charity of the year.

Since partnering, The Leadership Coaches have supported Wen’s Feminist Climate Leadership Programme, a 12-week Climate Sisters Leadership Programme that covers areas such as feminist leadership, racial and gender justice, and the intersections of climate justice.

To support the programme, The Leadership Coaches ran the programme’s week 9 workshop, which addresses confidence.

Facilitated by The Leadership Coaches’ expert, Carol, whose expertise is in introverted female leadership and cross-cultural expertise, the workshops specifically look at how women can hold their own in varying situations from speaking up at civic forums to being an assertive advocate for feminist climate change.

Speaking about the workshops, climate sisters programme manager at Wen Roshini Thamotheram said: “In Climate Sisters, we have benefitted from having the sessions with Carol from The Leadership Coaches, who really understands the importance of encouraging confidence with an intersectional lens, particularly in women from actively marginalised communities, who experience many internal and external factors that can affect how one thinks, feels and acts.

“Carol challenges these concepts which gives way for new ways of thinking, breaking barriers that can hold women back.

“It builds on the work we do in our sessions around feminist leadership and creates a very relatable and relaxed space for us all to learn more about ourselves and become more self-confident.”

In addition to providing the workshops, The Leadership Coaches also regularly make financial donations to charities.

They have so far donated £3,744.69 to Wen and also have made financial donations to charities including Sleeppod, Bristol and Weston Children’s Hospital, Send a Cow, British Red Cross, and School of Leadership Afghanistan that total £5,858.26.

Speaking on the work The Leadership Coaches do with Wen, CEO Zoé Lewis said: "We are proud to be partners with Women's Environmental Network.

“They do such important work crossing the intersections of women and climate change and addressing these issues through effective long-term strategic plans.

“The work we do with them plays into key areas that we ourselves care about which is bringing forth underrepresented future leaders to make impactful and sustainable change to our planet and communities."
