A Midlands law firm is preparing to take on of its biggest charity challenges yet.

Davisons Law – which has an office in Solihull - will be cycling the entire distance of the Tour de France in 24 hours without travelling a single mile for Cure Leukaemia.

The challenge taking place on Friday 17 July will see the law firm transform Touchwood Shopping Centre into a round the clock cycling arena for the Tour de Touchwood fundraising event.

The mission will start at midday on Friday and finish at midday on Saturday, with six stationary bikes pedalling continuously in relay teams as participants attempt to cover 3,331 kilometres – the full length of this years Tour de France.

The challenge will bring together staff from Davisons Law alongside businesses from across the West Midlands, all taking turns in the saddle throughout the 24-hour challenge.

Every pound raised will go directly to Cure Leukaemia, with Davisons Law covering all event costs to ensure 100 per cent of donations support the charity.

Cure Leukaemia funds pioneering blood cancer research and clinical trials across the UK, including the ATTICUS Network - the country's first national children's transplant trial network - which is helping improve treatment options and survival rates for young patients.

Darryl Wilkes, equity director at Davisons Law, said: "Tour de Touchwood is exactly the kind of challenge we love - ambitious, community-focused and all for a cause that genuinely saves lives.

“We're bringing the event right into the heart of Solihull and we'd love local people and businesses to come down, support the riders and even get involved themselves. The more people who take part, the bigger the impact we can make.”

James McLaughlin, chief executive of Cure Leukaemia, added: “Once again, the team at Davisons Law have raised the bar with their creativity and commitment.

“Cycling plays a huge role in helping us fund vital blood cancer research, and this challenge is a brilliant way of bringing the Solihull community together while raising awareness and essential funds.

“There will no doubt be some difficult moments during the 24 hours, but every pedal stroke will help children and adults living with blood cancer.”

Davisons Law is a founding Club 10 member of Cure Leukaemia, committing a minimum of £10,000 each year to support the charity's life-saving work.
