Exhibition inspired by traditional stores comes to Lichfield venue
Local artist and storyteller Maria Credali’s exhibition opens at The Hub at St Mary’s in Lichfield this month.
Once Upon a Time is an exhibition of art and storytelling, featuring visual and textile art inspired by traditional stories.
With recordings of stories (visual and audio) by Maria and some which have been kindly given by other storytellers, visitors can scan the QR code next to the pictures, or follow the links in the catalogue to listen.
Visitors can also create their own images for the story of ‘The Cracked Pot’ and contribute to our visitor gallery.
Open to all ages and with stories suitable for young and old alike, this is an interactive exhibition for the whole family.
Storytellers draw on all of the senses to convey their stories and in recognition of this there will be fairy tale artefacts to touch and explore for both children and adults.
During the exhibition The Hub will also be hosting a number of ticketed workshops and performances.
Maria Credali said: “I am delighted to be bringing the Once Upon a Time exhibition to my home city and especially to the Hub because it is such a beautiful and inspirational venue.
“I think audiences will be inspired as they listen to the stories and look at the pictures and artefacts. I'm looking forward to the art workshops and performance too – book your places – come and join in the fun!’”
