A member of the Future Faces Chamber of Commerce has been appointed as the chair of Harborne Village BID.

Hope Adie (pictured) has stepped up to the position after serving as a director since January 2024.

She has worked in Harborne for nearly ten years and runs her own business, Colonel Duck, a creative and software agency based locally.

This gives Hope a first-hand insight into the local business community and its needs.

Harborne Village BID brings together a wide range of organisations, from multiple retailers and independent shops to pubs, hotels and restaurants.

The BID’s overall aim is to create a great place to shop, work and do business by making Harborne safer, more attractive and full of vibrancy.

The BID delivers projects and initiatives that benefit the area and its businesses, including place shaping, marketing and events, business networking opportunities, and safety and security enhancements.

The role of Chair involves leading the Board, ensuring the BID stays focused on its mission, and helping prioritise initiatives that support local businesses and the wider community.

Speaking about the appointment, Hope said: “Harborne has always been a special place to me, both personally and professionally.

“As the owner of a locally-based business, Colonel Duck, and a committed Board Director, I am delighted to take on the role of Chair of the Harborne Village BID.

“I look forward to working closely with the Board, local businesses and our partners to ensure Harborne continues to thrive as a vibrant, welcoming and safe place to shop, work and do business.

“I am committed to supporting our community and helping the BID deliver projects that make a real difference for everyone who lives, works and visits here.”
