Solicitors donate funds to NHS trust after successful will writing campaign
Enoch Evan Solicitors donated funds gathered from a will writing campaign to Walsall’s Manor Hospital.
The will writing campaign was a collaboration between Walsall healthcare charity Well Wishers and was held from November 3 to 15 last year.
As part of this initiative, Enoch Evans Solicitors waived their standard fee for Will preparation, encouraging donations to the charity instead. The campaign successfully raised a total of £1,585.
Funds raised from previous campaigns have facilitated the refurbishment of a sensory room for children with special needs and disabilities, as well as the provision of virtual reality headsets for young adults.
Last year's funds contributed to upgrading the Maternity Unit at Walsall Manor Hospital, specifically aiding in the refurbishment of the Maternity Discharge Lounge.
Georgie Westley, fundraising manager at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “We are really pleased to have the support of Enoch Evans again this year following the annual Make A Will Fortnight partnership.
“It has been running for several years now and continues to be a very successful campaign.
“The money raised this year will go towards new wall graphics in our Children’s Emergency Department, helping to create a more welcoming environment for young patients and their families.”
The Emergency Department will use the funds to add permanent artwork to the cubicles to make them look less clinical and more child friendly.
Jayne Rodgers, Paediatric Emergency Department play specialist, said: “We always put the children at the centre of the care, this is paramount to everything we do.
“The aim is that the refurbished area will help the children to feel more relaxed when they are with us, and will also help the children with neurodiverse conditions, or learning disabilities as the artwork will be used as distraction techniques.”
