Sampad South Asian Arts & Heritage have announced a vibrant 2026 programme, with two headline events planned.

The popular Asian Spring will return in March, coming together to showcase and celebrate diverse South Asian dance forms.

Sampad will also be welcoming the world-renowned Tribhangi Dance Theatre to embark on a UK and schools tour.

Having first started in 1998, Asian Spring is a staple in the Sampad calendar.

This edition will take place at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire on Sunday, 22 March from 6pm onwards. The evening bring together varied dance groups from across the Midlands.

From the intricate footwork and expressive storytelling of Kathak to the lively, high-energy moves of Bhangra, Asian Spring will share the richness and diversity of South Asian cultures.

Tickets are available now, with an Early Bird offer available until the end of January 2026.

March 2026 will also see Tribhangi Dance Theatre visit the UK from Johannesburg, South Africa to tour UBUNTU, translating to ‘Humanity Towards Others.’

Tribhangi combine the strong physicality of African dance with the grace of classical Indian Bharatanatyam, also incorporating colourful Afro-fusion and contemporary styles.

With over a decade since their last tour, this is a rare opportunity to see a unique, striking performance.

Audiences can experience this incredible company in action at the Birmingham Rep on Saturday 28 March, before a performance in Leeds on Sunday 29 March.

Founded in 1990, Sampad brings people together from all walks of life. Through music, dance, literature, theatre, exhibitions, film and heritage, they change perceptions of South Asian arts, diversify audiences, and share the richness of South Asian cultures.

Alongside these performances and workshops, Sampad are also returning to Birmingham Symphony Hall’s Jennfier Blackwell Space with their popular Midday Mantra lunchtime concerts throughout the year, in partnership with B: Music.

Midday Mantra: New Year New Sounds takes place on Saturday 24 January 2026 and will feature local legend and tabla player Dal Singh, also known as the Tabla Jedi.
