The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) has announced the return of its flagship campaign on environmental sustainability, the Sustainable Business Series.

Set to kick off in June, the launch event will focus on going green and feature an array of speakers, providing insight and guidance for businesses on their journey towards Net Zero.

This year marks a significant milestone as the campaign expands its reach across the Greater Birmingham geography, encompassing events throughout the region from April 2024 to March 2025.

The launch event, titled "Going Green," will take place in Sutton Coldfield and will delve into the crucial role of employee empowerment in combatting climate change.

Attendees can expect insightful discussions on mobilising workforces towards sustainable practices and environmental stewardship, with a focus on internal policies adopted by leading organisations.

Kuran Singh (pictured), policy advisor at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, expressed enthusiasm for the expanded scope of this year's campaign.

He said: "We are delighted to launch the Sustainable Business Series campaign, which for the first time will be held across the Greater Birmingham geography, and be held over the course of the year.

“This campaign will build on previous years, providing businesses with insight and guidance throughout the financial year, and will enable businesses more opportunities to learn best practices from leading organizations keen to share their knowledge and achievements.

“With sustainability becoming increasingly intertwined with business success, the Sustainable Business Series serves as a vital platform for organizations to exchange ideas, learn from industry leaders, and take meaningful steps towards a greener future. Stay tuned for more updates on this campaign as it unfolds throughout the year.”
