Lichfield venue The Hub at St Mary’s is gearing up to host a triple-header of family shows, in conjunction with Redrow.

Last Unicorn Airways (on Sunday 19 April) is a tale of two whimsical baggage handlers as they recreate a fantastical round-the-world adventure, opening suitcases filled with trinkets, fine clothes, scents and stories.

Among them is The Flying Trunk, an Arabian Nights-inspired fable about a daring storyteller and a magical flying suitcase.

This show celebrates courage, connection and curiosity – perfect for families and children aged four and above, including those with complex needs and disabilities.

After the performance, attendees can explore a sensory immersive installation, offering an interactive experience for every child.

Performances are at 11am and 2pm.

‘Du Iz Tak?’ is A tiny tale told by tiny creatures about big ideas.

It takes place on Sunday 3 May. Told through the language of insects, Du Iz Tak? is a story about the cycle of life and all its impermanence.

Peer into a miniature world of little puppets to see a group of friends exploring their ever-changing home.

The show is described as funny, imaginative and thought-provoking. Performances times are at 10.30am, 12pm and 2pm.

Take Flight, on Sunday 17 May, is an aerial theatre show for 0-2 year olds and their grownups.

The story follows a musical mother bird as their baby hatches, grows and explores, navigating the challenges of hunger, sleep and play.

Culminating in a beautiful aerial moment, the mother bird supports her baby to leave the nest and take flight.

Performances times are 11.30am and 2pm.

Helen Campbell, head of fundraising and partnerships at The Hub, said: “We are delighted to welcome Redrow as our new Family Shows Partner.

“As a charity and social enterprise, The Hub greatly benefits from partnerships like this to continue providing high-quality family theatre that is accessible to as many people as possible.”
