Three charities have been shortlisted to become Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce’s next charity partner.

The shortlisted charities are Acacia Family Support, the Cancer Support Centre and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The final three will now have the opportunity to pitch to Chamber members at a charity selection event on 11 April at Boldmere St Michaels Football Club.

Following the presentations, Chamber members will cast their votes to select the next chosen charity.

The winner will succeed UK Sepsis Trust who were the Chamber’s charity partner for the past two years.

Naeem Arif, president of Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce, said: “I’d like to congratulate the outgoing charity, UK Sepsis Trust, who we have been working with for the last two years as our charity partner.

“It is an important cause and we are excited that we have supported them in raising funds but also in raising awareness of the danger of sepsis and making more people Sepsis Savvy.

“We received a lot of applications from charities to become our next partner.

“Our executive committee reviewed all the applications and shortlisted these three.

“All represent important causes in our society and we believe all three will be worthy of being our charity partner.

“We now look forward to the charity selection event on 11 April, where the three shortlisted charities will present their case.

“We encourage all members to attend this event and vote for their favourite, as it will now come down to a member vote on who is selected.

“The winning charity will nominate their representative who will sit on our committee to replace outgoing charity rep Brian Davies, who did a great job representing UK Sepsis Trust.”
