Touchwood recently celebrated the joy of Eid al-Adha with a busy fun-filled family day out drawing guests from across the region.

The centre came alive with spectacular live performances from a vibrant lineup of talent, including the incredible Mikhaael Mala, Ensemble Safaa, the Fahira Hasedzic Folk Group, Serena Khan, Anas Salim, and many more!

Guests got creative in interactive workshops led by brilliant British Muslim artists, with inspiring activities suitable for all ages—from crafts and storytelling to calligraphy and henna, enjoying special Eid Discounts across a fantastic range of food outlets and selected retailers throughout Touchwood.

Such was the success of the event that, despite the blustery weather centre footfall was boosted by almost 10 per cent on the prior year with retailers and restaurants citing a great boost to trade from the event.

As part of the opening welcome and introductions, Touchwood general manager Tony Elvin was bestowed with an Ajrak, a traditional cloth from the province of Sindh in Pakistan by former Solihull Mayor, Councillor Shahin Ashraf MBE.

The event was a collaboration between SIEA, SMCA, Solihull Central Masjid, The Olton Project, Solihull Hub, 16th Solihull Scouts, Touchwood and Solihull Council.

Touchwood also recently hosted their first ever Mela festival with a vibrant day of music, dance, food, and family fun, in partnership with Solihull Seva.

Taking place across Theatre Square and Jubilee Walk, the event featured Bhangra and dhol workshops, a magic show, live cooking demos, and performances from Ace Jalaf, DJ Mix Singh, Drum Culture, DJ Jeeves, and headliner Dr Zeus.

Attendees were able to enjoy arts and crafts, henna, face painting, games, raffles, and a lively dance-off finale with a prize for the best dancer.
